Duda leaves Reysol
(1998-9-11)  
The club announced that Duda (#9 FW) is leaving Reysol. Duda played 5 matches 1st Stage of 98 J-League and scored 3 goals (that was hat trick at the match against Bellmare). He has not had a chance to play in the top team since new coming strikers (Stoichkov and Bentinho) joined the team.


Stoichkov will join the national team in September
(1998-8-26)  
Hristo Stoichkov (FW,32) will leave Japan tempolarily on 30th to join the national team of Bulgaria. Bulgaria will have a match (preliminal round for Euro 2000) against Poland on 5th of September. He will be come to Japan again on 8th.

Hristo's comment
I will do my best and lead the team to win the match against JEF on 29th, the day before my leaving for Bulgaria. I'm very sorry that I'll be absent from the match against Flugers (Sept. 5) but I feel honored to be a member of the national team. I will play best match by match to survive to the final round.


2 Players of Reysol Selected to All Stars Match
(1998-8-11)  
10th, selected players list of Kodak All Stars Soccer (16th 19:00 Kick off / Yokohama International Stadium) was released. From Reysol, Akira Nishino (as head coach of J-EAST), DF Takeshi Watanabe and MF Naoki Sakai (as players of J-EAST) were selected by supporters voting.

Akira Nishino (Coach) : I appliciate supporters giving me a chance to direct the best team on such a glorious stage as All Stars Match. I would like to make this match the best one with the best performance of the best players.

Takeshi Watanabe (Defender) : I feel honored to be selected to the eleven of All Stars Match again. I'd like to play to meet expectation of suppoters and contribute to the victory of the team with my sure diffence.

Naoki Sakai (Midfielder) : I will do my best to meet expectation of suppoters who gave me a chance to impress a lot of people my play.

8th, 1998 J-League 1st Stage was closed. Kashiwa Reysol was finaly 10th / 18teams in the league.

The match vs Cerezo Osaka (8th / Nagai Stadium) made 12 goales. The score (Reysol 7 - 5 Cerezo) was like a baseball game and this 12 goals / match is J-League record.
The record before it was 11 goals (7/30/97 Bellmare 7 - 4 Reysol) and Reysol broke it themselves.


Kato's First Hat Trick in J-League
(98-8-8)  
MF(11) Nozomu Kato recorded hat trick in the match vs Cerezo Osaka on 8th. He scored 3 goals (15min, 36min and 50min.) and it was his first time to make hat trick in J-League. Moreover he also played very well as a chance maker (He asisted Stoichkov's gaol at 69min. )


Junior Soccer / Reysol Finished at Best 8
(98-8-1)  
All Japan Junior Soccer Championship was held Jul.27 - Aug.1 in Yomiuri Land. Kashiwa Reysol Junior (the champion of 1997) cleared prelimial league as expected but was defeated in the quater-final match. The match result was draw (1-1) and it was settled by penalties.
